Hiring During COVID -19 and Social Distancing

covid-19, coronavirus, social distance

It is hard to believe that as of right now we live in a world where we are encouraged (mandated) to be apart.

During this time it is still important for the birthing person to feel loved, cared for, and supported. Just because there is social distancing, does not mean the need for support goes away. In fact, I believe that it is even more essential now.

Esco Birth & Family is dedicated to ALL families no matter the status of our world. It might start to look a little different with virtual support – but birth does not need to feel isolating. There are many different choices – let’s take a look:

Birth Doula Support (virtual)

It is possible for you and your family to still hire a doula for in-person support. However, you should be sure to check with your medical provider and the hospital that they serve to check if there are any conditions. They may not allow a doula to be present. If you are having a home birth this is less of an obstacle as you will be able to freely choose who enters your home during the birth. If you hire me for virtual support you will be getting everything you would normally receive (except for my being there in person). Instead of my in-person support – I would be on call for the 2 weeks prior and available during your labor and birth via facetime or skype.

Here is a more detailed look at what is in the virtual doula package:

  • FREE Preparing for Birth Journal
  • 2 virtual prenatal visits
  • Email, phone, and text support during regular business hours (starting at contract signing)
  • 24/7 on-call support (via phone, email, and text) beginning at 38 weeks.
  • On-call support during labor and birth via Facetime/Skype and text (can be done with a partner)
  • FREE access to Prepared Feeding Breastfeeding Course
  • 1 Virtual Postpartum visit

Online Childbirth Education

As a BEST certified Childbirth Educator – I am offering online classes at a discount for those who also sign up for virtual doula support for a limited time.

This class is a comprehensive class that will help guide you through the ins and outs of all of your choices. There are many ways we can complete this class:

  • Private
  • Virtual Groups (this is my favorite way)

If you join a virtual group – I invite you to make new friends during this time and you will be able to virtually connect with them during class. What a fun way to learn and get to know each other! You will truly be able to lean on one another for support.

Virtual Postpartum Doula

After giving birth to your little one – it can feel a bit overwhelming. Traditionally a postpartum doula would be hands-on in the home showing you ways to handle, change, etc your baby. During this time I am willing to work with one family at a time – however virtual postpartum support can be a wonderful way to bridge the gap and it can be very flexible!

Here are my virtual postpartum offerings:

Packages*

#1 – 4 sessions ($162)

#2 – 10 sessions ($405)

#3 – 15 sessions ($608)

*sessions are priced at 50 minutes per session

Ala Carte

    • 50-minute sessions ($45)
    • 30-minutes sessions ($30)

There you have it! While this isn’t the way I imagined things going – I am actually excited about the shake-up of services. If you still would like in-hospital or in-home birth support I am more than willing to provide that on a case by case service. Click here to register for a class or book a free consult. I am excited about this new adventure and can’t wait to meet new families!

Later my beautiful, powerful butterflies,

Caitlin
